This bill would enable local Councils to support improvements to the tourism infrastructure through a ring fenced mechanism. It is vital that sufficient funds are provided to improve the offering to visitors as we should aim to achieve excellence in this important sector. Local accountability is important and can reflect local needs. Ring fencing of the funds is essential.
The Regulatory Impact Assessment is set out in Part 2 of the Explanatory Memorandum (https://senedd.wales/media/g5ipwvwh/pri-ld16812-em-e.pdf). This includes the Welsh Government’s assessments of the financial and other impacts of the Bill and its implementation.

Minimal administration should be aimed for although, as demonstrated in other countries, this need not be onerous to accommodation providers. Consultation on an informal basis with accommodation provider's representatives should be undertaken to minimise admin costs.

Inclusive approach between Government with tourism bodies will bare fruit rather than top down imposition. ( a la Sustainable farming proposals)
